The Incredibles

I took my wife and my two youngest daughters to see Pixar’s The Incredibles last night.

I don’t have the time or the skill to write a long review. All I can say is that this is a really fun movie. I laughed, I cried, I marveled at the animation, and I thoroughly enjoyed the story.

I sometimes have trouble sitting through a two hour movie without getting drowsy (blame it on this and this). I am happy to report that I had no problem staying awake last night!

The movie is set is a really cool sci-fi future, with all sorts of exciting technologies and gadgets. I found myself wanting to live in the future that they had designed, and afterward one of my daughters told me the same thing. The Incredibles contained some pretty subtle riffs on various Star Wars elements, mixed in with a bit of Indiana Jones.

I would go see this one again in a heartbeat, and I am sure we will buy the DVD.

Could this replace 2001 as my all-time favorite movie? Perhaps not, given that I am 44, but if I was 9 years old again, then perhaps it would.
