Glenn Fleishman is now publishing the Regular Sucking Schedule blog, specifically to discuss issues related to RSS bandwidth usage. I’m not doing all that I can on the consumer side here, so guilty as charged. On the plus side, I do request zipped content (which only a few sites supply). Syndic8 does not yet respect the 304 code, and it doesn’t do anything with ETags. Right now each poll pulls down nearly 3 GB of data, and the poll runs twice a day. I’ve got some work to do.
