Zend Platform – PHP Management Infrastructure

less than 1 minute read

The new Zend Platform has some very desirable management and maintenance features for large sites built with PHP. I like the way that it monitors scripts to establish a baseline, and then provides a variety of reports and alerts when a script is running “hot”, using too much time or memory. The platform also generates an XML feed of its observations. This should make it easy to integrate in to existing monitoring tools and dashboards.

At $1495/year for 2 or more CPUs, it is a bit pricey for me right now, but definitely something I need to look at in the future. There’s also a 30-day free eval.
