Update from Europe
I am writing this post from the floor of XTech 2006. where I’m scheduled to speak in about an hour. I’ve been way too busy to do any personal blogging, although I have had the time to write a couple of posts for the AWS blog.
Here are some reviews of a talk that I gave at Westminster University this past Monday:
- Soledad Penades: Jeff Barr spoke about Amazon Web Services yesterday! – “Jeff was actually a very nice person, quite accessible and open to any questions and feedback.”
- Simon Buckle: Amazon Web Services – “Overall the talk was interesting, especially some of the ways in which people are using Amazon’s web services..”
- Luis Correa d’Almeida: On Amazon’s Web Services – “Jeff talked for two hours about Amazon’s web services, took questions throughout the presentation, and lead, all in all, a pretty dynamic and interesting session..”
- Boog Blog:Jeff Barr and Amazon Web Services – “*Jeff was a very enthusiastic speaker and these Amazon web services look very interesting, particularly S3 and the Mechanical Turk. *.”
I also spent two days as the chair of the IQPC SOA Best Practices Conference.
I have also been taking and posting pictures. Here’s London and Amsterdam.
I’ll deliver two talks today, hang around Amsterdam tomorrow, and then head over to Scotland for WWW2006 and a visit to the Amazon Development Center.
